Chiltern Music Therapy is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that provides a music therapy service to people of all ages with Learning Disabilities, including Autism and Asperger's, Brain injury, Dementia, Mental-health, emotional difficulties, stroke & Parkinson's disease sufferers and those with life-threatening illnesses.
We work with people to help them improve their health and emotional well being and develop skills in speech & communication, emotional and behavioural issues, cognition and motor skills. Unlike in other counties where Music Therapy is provided via the NHS and education system, we are the only Music Therapy provision in this area and also provide music, singing and ensemble sessions for the general public through our Music for All and Music Business Schemes. Our administration and managerial roles are done voluntarily, meaning that any money raised goes directly to helping fund sessions, instruments or equipment. We believe that everyone should have access to music-making opportunities.
